The ET Nice Drive 1000 is a heavy duty sliding gate operator built for high-traffic gates up to 1,000 kg — the motor to specify for estates, complexes, business parks, industrial sites and larger residential gates that see constant use. It's designed, manufactured and supported in South Africa by ET Nice, with over 30 years of local gate automation experience and local parts and support behind it. This kit pairs the motor with 4 metres of rack, so the drive and the gate-mounted rack arrive together as a matched set rather than being sourced separately. What makes the Drive 1000 suitable for high traffic is its power pack design. A 288VA toroidal transformer drives the 24V DC motor directly from mains, with the battery held in reserve as true backup only. That allows a 98% duty cycle — the gate can run almost continuously without overheating or draining the battery, which is exactly what a busy entrance demands. When the power goes off, the 24V 5Ah backup battery takes over automatically, delivering up to 100 operations in the first 24 hours of a power failure — enough to keep a busy entrance running through extended load-shedding. A built-in multi-stage charger with battery health check keeps the battery in condition and flags when it's time for replacement. The 250W, 24V DC high-speed motor moves the gate at up to 28 m/min under intelligent control, rated for 400 N of gate load. Advanced electronics with a large backlit display make programming, diagnostics and fault reporting fast for installers.
